Nevada becomes first state with a majority of law makers being women.

In a new first for Nevada, two vacated Assembly seats were filled by the appointment of two women. This makes the total women in both legislative branches 32 out of the total 63 seats.

Women will now hold 23 of 42 seats in the state Assembly and nine of the state Senate’s 21 spots, giving them 32 of the 63 total seats in the Legislature, the outlet reported.
